Following are the types of gases: Biogas: This type of gas is produced as a result of the anaerobic fermentation of biological materials. The main constituents of this type of gas are methane and carbon dioxide. Gases from Steel industry: The second types of gases are categorized as gases formed by steel industry. For example, coke gas, LD-converter gas etc. Mine gas: The third group of gases is Mine gas which is found underground. For example, when coal is mined then methane gas is formed. Similarly, various other gases are formed during mining. Special Gases: The waste gases released from the industrial or gasification processes are known as Special gases. They are used for various purposes and they form the fourth categories of the gases.
