What are the types of dental X-rays used in a dental clinic and what are its functions?
According to a Ventura DDS, our dental equipment are complete and modern, including our dental x-ray. There are two types of x-rays used when treating patients, the intraoral and extraoral x-rays. Intraoral x-rays give a lot of detail for dentists to check if you have other dental problems. It also monitors the health of your teeth and jawbone. This is the most common x-ray used. Extraoral x-rays, on the other hand, mainly focus on the jaw and skull of the patient. This is different from intraoral x-rays because it cannot be used to detect oral problems that you might have in your teeth. Its purpose is to monitor the teeth and jaw and identify potential problems in relation to TMJ (temporomandipular joint).
