Dechlorinating agents remove residual chlorine at time of sampling: Sodium Thiosulfate (Na2S2O3); Ascorbic Acid (C6H8O6). Specialized methods use other preservatives: Zinc Acetate-ZnAc (C2H2O2Zn); Ethylenediamine-EDA (C2H8N2).
