What are the two numbers in the Gold Cost of the Temple?
The larger amount is the normal cost of the building. The other is the Renovation Cost, which requires the destruction of a Temple you have out in play in order to pay. The Renovation Cost can be thought of as breaking down a building you have already built, and reusing the foundation for something new. The restriction on the Renovation Cost is that the destroyed Temple cannot be the Required Temple on the new one you wish to build. For example, if the new Temple says, “Requires: Farmstead” then you could not renovate the Farmstead into the new Temple.
