NACD publishes an annual Director Compensation Survey in collaboration with Pearl Meyer & Partners. This annual survey includes information for companies $50 million and up. In the most recent survey published February 2008, and available free to all NACD members, the trends for total pay, based on proxies filed by companies with fiscal year ends between February 1, 2006 and January 31, 2007, are as follows: Smaller $50m to Small $500m to Medium $1b to Large $2.5b to $10b = median $167,667 Top 200 = median $215,000 The survey breaks down trends for all elements of director pay, and provides a breakdown of the elements by industry. The 2008-2009 Director Compensation Report can be downloaded for free by NACD members from our online bookstore page.
