What are the treatments for Shoulder Dislocation?
Once the joint has been reduced and a decision has been made as to whether surgery is required, then following an appropriate period of immobilisation, function has to be gradually returned. Strengthening, mobility and proprioceptive exercises are progressed to return the shoulder to full function following Shoulder Dislocation. The Flexi-bar is an excellent way of stimulating the proprioceptors in the shoulder following this type of injury by providing rapid and variable stimulation in the form of vibration to the joint. Upon return to training or physical activity, wearing a shoulder support will provide addition protection to the shoulder. Additional treatment tips: • Always warm up and cool down and stretch thoroughly before and after taking part in any physical or sporting activity in order to reduce the risk of injury.
