What Are the Treatments for Raynauds Phenomenon?
Raynaud’s phenomenon, also known as Raynaud’s disease or Raynaud’s syndrome, is a rare disorder in which the arteries, the blood vessels that carry blood away from the heart, experience brief spasms that cause them to narrow. The resulting diminished blood flow to the extremities, particularly the fingers and toes, may cause the skin of the affected areas to turn white or blue. Once blood flow resumes, the area may burn or tingle and turn red. Treatment depends on whether the patient has primary or secondary Raynaud’s phenomenon.
