Management of esotropia is based on a number of factors. The overriding principles are: • Re-establishment of ocular alignment • Maximization of binocular vision • Relief of diplopia •Treatment of associated amblyopia Treatment modalities include spectacles (sometimes with prism or bifocal), strabismus surgery (eye muscle surgery), botulinum toxin (less frequently utilized) and concomitant amblyopia therapy.
