What are the traffic implications of the development?
It is envisaged that the development will reduce the commuter and visitor traffic on the local and strategic road network. In terms of visitors, it is hoped that people visiting Birmingham will use the Parkway Station rather that travelling by car. It is expected that vehicular traffic generated by the proposed station would not exceed the levels previously predicted for the Park and Ride site. Traffic impacts should be minimal as the peak traffic flows are likely to occur outside of the key traffic peaks. It is understood that traffic levels have changed since the Park and Ride was developed, the Transport Assessment will be based on up to date traffic flows.
