What are the tour leaders like?
All of our tour leaders are exceptional! They are fluent in English and Spanish. They are from the local areas where they guide and are among the very best guides available in each region. Our tour leaders treat our travelers like friends, showing visitors both the major highlights and the local treasures.
Like all of our tour leaders, the Amazon guides are exceptional! They are fluent in English (some tours also a second native guide who may only speak limited English) and generally speak the local jungle language(s) and Spanish as well. They are trained in biology or ecology and specialize in jungle guiding, giving them a unique ability to spot elusive wildlife. Some lodges, such as Sacha, employ both a native guide from the local area and a biologist guide with formal training.
Roman Vizcarra will be your guide for most of the trip. Born in Peru, Roman has traveled worldwide teaching about the Quechua people. He loves to share an intimate knowledge of his peoples traditions, and belief systems. A professional guide, Roman speaks fluent Spanish, English, German and Italian. Roman shares with passion his life vision: the recuperation and revaluation of his culture. Roman oftentimes says that while guiding he creates lifelong frienships, and this makes his work no longer feel like work, rather a wonderful opportunity share insights. All of our tour assistants are exceptional! They are fluent in English and Spanish. Most also speak the local language of Quechua. Our assistants are from the local area and are among the very best guides. They treat our travelers like friends, showing visitors both the major highlights and the local treasures.
You will have multiple local guides on your Falkland Islands tour. For each excursion, your driver or guide will be local to that particular destination–Sea Lion Island, Stanley, etc. On unstructured days you will be picked up and transferred to your lodging by your hosts, and they will be happy to give suggestions and recommendations for things to do in the area.
