What are the tipping guidelines?
Tipping is always at the travelers’ discretion, and is generally done on the last night of your cruise. As a guideline, the cruise lines recommend the following gratuities: Cabin Steward-$3.00 per guest/per day; Waiter-$3.00 per guest/per day; and Busboy-$1.50 per guest/per day. A 15% gratuity will be automatically added to any bar bill.
It is customary to tip your room steward and your waiter $3.00 per day, per person. Many cruise lines have instituted a fixed amount for tips based on this guideline and are automatically added to your onboard account. If you would prefer to offer gratuities to each staff member personally, you may remove the automatic gratuities from your onboard account by visiting the purser?s office.
For your convenience, the cruise line will automatically charge gratuities for dining and stateroom staff to your onboard Sail & Sign account. As a guideline, the cruise lines recommend the following gratuities: Stateroom Service-$3.50; Dining Room Services-$5.50; and Alternative Services-$1, for the total amount of $10 per guest, per day. This guideline amount is always at the guest’s discretion, and you may adjust up or down. A 15% gratuity will be automatically added to any bar bill.
