What are the timelines for the implementation of the provisions of the Building Act 1993?
The following timelines apply to the application of the Act, as it was presented to State Parliament For existing cooling tower systems: • Land owners were given six months to apply to the Building Commission for registration of their cooling towers, ie. by 1 September 2001. • From the first time they apply for registration renewal, owners will be required to state whether they have prepared a risk management plan. • Owners will be required to state whether they have had those plans reviewed and audited from the second time they apply for registration renewal, ie. from between March 2003 and September 2003.
