What are the tides like?
The tidal differences in the Sea of Cortez can be quite large, more than 20 feet between high and low tides on the same day. That means that a large volume of water moves in and out of the bay at Papa Fernndez as the tides change. Therefore, the currents moving in and out of the small bay can be quite strong.
