What are the three types of payment arrangements offered by CCRCs?
The three types of payment arrangements offered by CCRCs are: • Type-A (extensive) – residents pay a substantial one-time, up-front entrance fee and monthly fees to cover the cottage or apartment, services, and all the Personal Care or Nursing Care the resident will need for the rest of his or her life. The Highlands at Wyomissing offers a Type-A (extensive) arrangement. • Type-B (modified) – residents pay an entrance fee (also substantial, but less than the one that would be charged under a Type-A arrangement) and monthly fees to cover the cottage or apartment, services, and a limited amount of Personal Care or Nursing Care. • Type-C (fee-for-service) – residents may or may not pay an entrance fee. The monthly fees cover the cottage or apartment and other included services. The resident must pay the full cost of Personal Care or Nursing Care services that he or she may require. Return to Top 3.
