What are the things that I have to bear in mind while doing extraction?
• I’m doing my coursework on HCl and Mg finding the rate order with mono and di protic acids. I’m also seeing whether a strong or weak acid affects its rate. When I do my experiment, do I see how long the experiment lasts until all the Mg is gone and time that? So do I start my stopwatch as soon as I drop the Mg in the acid and then stop it when all the Mg is gone and see how long it took? Or do I have to write down the readings of vol of H2 produced every 10 secs or so until the experiment finishes. • What are the advantages and disadvantages of simple filtration over hot gravity filtration and suction filtration? • I am planning my A2 chemistry coursework, and I have decided to investigate the different methods used to determine the purity of aspirin.
