For the 2009-2010 school year, the Department of Education published a list of acceptable tests in its annual Competent Private Instruction Handbook. The list may be downloaded here.

Until revisions took effect in February of 2009, a list of approved tests was located within the administrative rules governing Competent Private Instruction in Iowa. This list was removed so it would not need to remain static. Starting with the 2009-2010 school year, the Department of Education will provide a current list of approved tests in its annual Competent Private Instruction Handbook.
