What are the tests and final exam like, and what material do they cover?
Tests are generally short: 30 to 40 minutes. Tests may be taken on paper, or using the IDLE (or Rurple) development environment on your lab computer, or both (in two separate parts). Electronic devices other than STC lab computers (such as personal computers) may not be used on tests, but may be used for other lab work when not working with a partner. Only reference to the current course syntax page is allowed during paper tests. Only use of the course syntax page and IDLE or Rurple windows (including Help windows) is allowed on IDLE tests. Tests are primarily short programming exercises, but they may include true/false, multiple-choice and short answer questions, including questions asking you what some small program does or how to fix a small program. Generally tests emphasize recent material, but may cover any course material through the preceding week. They never cover material introduced in the current week.
