What are the terms and conditions to govern the grant of the GATE Scholarship?
a. It will be obligatory for every GATE scholarship holder student to undertake 8-10 hours per week of work related to teaching and research activities as assigned to him/her by the institute. b. Wherever Govt. of India/ University Grant Commission/ Council of Scientific and Industrial Research/ Industry sponsored projects are being undertaken, the services of the students may be used for providing assistance in the projects funded by these agencies. In that event a portion of scholarship for the time being may be charged to the project funds for the duration the students are engaged on these projects. c. The institute (M.Tech. Officer-in-Charge) will work out specific programmes of work and maintain the record of each student. d. The student must secure a first class or equivalent, during the first semester and the second semester examinations to become eligible for continuance of scholarship at the enhanced rate during the second semester and the third semester respectively. e.
