What are the technical requirements for running CopyV?
CopyV is written in Java and requires installation of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.5 or higher (1.6 recommended). If Java is not installed on your computer, the installation script will automatically install it, or you can install it from here (java.com). CopyV utilizes direct TCP connection between peer computers. In order to enable your friends to connect to your computer, one computer’s router (yours or your friend’s) must be configured to forward port 5551 to your computer (you can change this port via Properties form). Port forwarding is called various names, i.e., “port forwarding”; “virtual servers”; or “port mapping”. You can find several tutorials on this issue, such as: PortForward_Tutorial/ or http://PortForward.com or http://www.ZeroPaid.com. Firewalls may block the ports that are used by CopyV. If this is the case, open port 5551 (or other) in your firewall. Finally, you can check that everything is functioning properly using the Check Port action in CopyV tray icon me
