What are the teaching assignment guidelines?
• A Faculty Fellow is expected to teach 3 undergraduate courses per academic year, normally one course per quarter. • A Fellow may teach 1/2/0 combination schedule during the first or second year with justification, and he/she must teach the Fall quarter of each year. • One or more of these courses may be in undergraduate interdisciplinary programs, but no more than two courses per academic year may be college writing courses. • It is encouraged that the Fellow be allowed to teach at least one course per academic year in his/her area of specialty. • If a Fellow is appointed as an Associate In Fall quarter, it is encouraged that the Fellow not be assigned a large enrollment, heavy workload course for the first quarter, unless he/she has taught the course before or has an unusually strong teaching background.
