What are the tasks of EMS personnel during the camp?
EMS personnel have different tasks in the camp: On the one hand, they respond to medical emergencies and perform medical transport for the local population, on the other hand they give EMS cover for the staff of the camp, especially during exercises and major emergency turnouts. We expect to have two ambulance vehicles in the camp (both equipped for basic life support) for these tasks. The available EMS equipment ist provided by donations from Germany and the neighbouring countries. In case of minor illnesses and injuries of camp participants, the EMS personnel are responsible for medical treatment and care of these comrades in our first-aid station, which also serves as ward. In case of more severe illnesses or injuries of camp participants, the EMS personnel are responsible for necessary treatment for stabilisation of the patient and for fast transport to Veroia hospital.
