What are the tasks and the responsibilities of the Central Bank?
a. The Central Bank is the only institution entitled by law to issue paper money in the Netherlands Antilles. The Central Bank is also charged by the Government with the circulation of coins. b. The Central Bank supervises banking and credit institutions to guarantee depositors and other creditors funds at credit and banking institutions in particular and the soundness of the financial sector in general. c. The Central Bank manages the foreign exchange reserves of the Netherlands Antilles, which includes regulating of the transfer of payments between residents of the Netherlands Antilles and nonresidents. d. The Central Bank acts as the government’s treasurer by receiving and making payments from and to the public through the tax collector’s account at the Central Bank. 5. What are the possibilities to act against a decision of the Central Bank? If the decision is based on private law, civil proceedings will have to be followed based on the Civil Code of the Netherlands Antilles. If th
