What are the System Requirements?
Just about any Internet capable computer will work for most things. Preferably, the minimum system would have Windows XP (or later) or Mac OS 10 (or later) with 512 MB of RAM (the more the better). For Windows users, it is a good idea to go to the Windows Update page to download and install the latest updates and fixes for your computer. Macintosh users can go to the Apple – MacOS Support website to check for the latest software releases. It is highly recommended that you use a recent version of Microsoft Internet Explorer (v.6 or higher) or Firefox (version 2.0 or higher) web browser. It is good to have more than one browser installed on your computer. Campus Edition and AOL If you intend to use America Online (AOL) for web access to Campus Edition, you must first access the Internet with AOL, and then use one of the preferred browsers noted above. The only compatible AOL browser is version 9 or higher, with Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher also installed on your computer.
Although there are no system requirements to run Flickr, for PCs, Macs or Linux, we recommend any recent version of a Mozilla-based browser, including Firefox and Mozilla. On Mac OS X you can also use the most recent version of Apple’s Safari browser. On a PC, Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 will also work well. Mac OS 9 is not specifically supported. To get the most out of Flickr, you’ll want to have the latest version of Macromedia’s Flash plugin installed. We do recommend that you use a reasonably powerful computer, and a fast Internet connection, because that will make it more fun. Note: Flickr does not currently support the Mac IE browser.
