What are the symptoms of toenail fungus?
A. Toenail fungus, also know by its medical name as Onychomycosis, is another case of plantar fungus. This type of fungus affects the toenail instead of the upper layer of the skin. If you start noticing a yellowish to brown hue in your toenail with some minor white patches or spots, then there is a good chance that you have contracted a toenail fungus infection. Sometimes the nail will become very fragile and tend to crumble and collect debris underneath it. The toenail itself may lift off the nailbed and bacteria will accumulate underneath. This will cause pain and lead to a risk of the nailbed contracting some more bacteria.
