What are the symptoms of severe acute respiratory syndrome, Sars (also known as atypical pneumonia)?
The illness usually begins with a fever of 38 degree C(100.4 degree F). The fever is sometimes associated with chills, headaches and, to a lesser extent, coughing. The incubation period – the period between infection and the appearance of symptoms of the disease – is typically 2 to 7 days, but may be as long as 10 days.
