What Are the Symptoms of Heart Disease and Heart Attack?
The classic symptoms of heart attack are crushing chest pain, which may extend to the shoulder, to the jaw, or down the arm; shortness of breath; sweating; nausea &/or vomiting; dizziness; rapid or irregular pulse; and weakness. These symptoms are often brought on by physical exertion (classic example: while someone is shoveling snow) or sudden emotional stress. This having been said, many heart attacks are mild, and may even be asymptomatic or “silent” (especially in diabetics).
