What are the symptoms of dyspraxia and are there any local selfhelp groups in scotland?
Our Daughter is Dyspraxic, and was diagnosed 10 years ago,the symptoms are;general lack of co-ordination,difficulty in doing up buttons & shoelaces, constantly tripping over thin air and bumping into things, difficulty using a knife, fork and writing apparatus, difficulty telling left from right, very poor sense of direction, poor spacial awareness, poor handwriting unless given enough time to concentrate very hard, poor hand-eye co-ordination,poor concentration,if given a list of tasks can only remember the last thing, uncomfortable in tight fitting or synthetic clothing, disliking certain combinations of textures of food (e.g; our daughter will not let food touch other foods on her plate, and dislikes certain foods not because of taste but because of texture). The list is very long but The Dyspraxia Foundation is very helpful.
