What are the symptoms of avian influenza in birds?
Infected birds may have respiratory symptoms such as sneezing and coughing, swelling of the eyes, ruffled feathers, and diarrhea. However, any or all of these symptoms may also indicate other illnesses. Remember, the Asian HPAI H5N1 virus has not been detected anywhere in North America, and that there have been no confirmed reports of anyone catching this virus from a wild bird.
