What are the symptoms of an out of balance tire?
The leading symptom will be vibration when traveling at speed. Normally a shimmy in the steering wheel indicates a front tire out of balance. A tire-type vibration in the entire vehicle is more likely a rear tire. Wheel out of balance will normally come and go with vehicle speed. For instance a vibration there at 45MPH and not at 65 MPH or vice versa. Two causes of concern, when looking at the wheel are, no weights on one side or the other or more than one weight on either side. No weight can indicate static balance only or that the weights have come off. Multiple weights on one side of the wheel indicates operator error.
