What are the symptoms of an enlarged prostate gland?
Less than 50% of men with an enlarged prostate suffer from symptoms, these include: • Dribbling after urinating • Feeling ‘stuffed’ in the rectal area • Unable to urinate • Sudden urge to urinate – incontinence • Only able to urinate in small amounts requiring repeat visits to the toilet • Pain with urination and/or blood in the urine (this may also indicate infection so do get it checked if you develop these symptoms) • Slow to get started when you urinate • Difficulty urinating – straining • Frequent urination at night
