What are the symptoms of a ruptured ovarian cyst?
An ovarian cyst can rupture during anytime of your menstrual cycle. When I have a cyst rupture I start feeling extreme discomfort in my pelvic region and almost a bloated feeling in my lower abdomen for a couple of days. The most common symptom is extreme pain on one side in your pelvic region. If you’re worried that you have had a cyst rupture the best thing is to make an appointment to see your gyno and have an ultrasound done. Not only will they be able to see if a cyst did rupture but they will also be able to tell you if there are more cysts that need monitoring. When I had my first ultrasound done in the hospital (I had a cyst rupture and bleed into my abdominal cavity-the pain was so bad I thought I was dying) the doctors found 7 more cysts in addition to the one that had already ruptured.
