What are the symbols for cold and warm fronts on a weather map?
The symbol for a cold front is a blue line with blue triangles that point in the direction that the cold air is moving. A warm front is a red line with red half-circles, which also points in the direction that the air is moving. The other two fronts seen regularly on weather maps are stationary fronts (marked by alternating blue triangles and red half-circles on either side of the line) and occluded fronts (a purple line with alternating half-circles and triangles on the same side of the line).
