The five-year survival rates for different types of skin cancer are Basal cell carcinoma is more than 99%. Squamous cell carcinoma is more than 95%. Malignant melanoma is about 88% if it is localized. The survival rates drop to 58% percent when melanoma has spread to nearby lymph nodes, and 13% when it has spread to distant parts of the body.
