Yes the Chemotherapy treatment has improved. A new form of Chemotherapy called ADVENTRX was approved by the FDA in the year 2006 with these new drugs: vinorelbine, gemcitabine (Gemzar) and docetaxel (Taxotere). A clinical study was done from the years 1994 – 2005 with two groups. The group in the years 1994-1998 used the old form of chemotherapy and the group from 2000-2005 used ADVENTRX. The second group’s (2000-2005) survival rate increased by 16%.
