What are the SUM GAIN controls for?

0

Previously, if you had many “hot”signals feeding a bus that was getting close to overload, you had to back off the faders of every input channel. With the SUM GAIN controls, you can attenuate the summed bus signal to prevent overloading. So instead of, for example, adjusting 20 input channel faders, now you can simply adjust a single SUM GAIN control without affecting the mix. The SUM GAIN controls offer up to 20 dB of attenuation, and there’s one on each master output.
