What are the strengths of Bangalore Kidney Foundation [BKF]?
I would say our strengths are in the areas of paediatric/adult urology, neuro-urology and andrology. We have two-decade-old experience treating various renal disorders and our dialysis center is one of the largest in south India. It has been the motto of BKF to provide quality treatment at an affordable cost. We have a forum for educating and creating awareness about kidney diseases. Our institution advocates the policy of cadaver organ transplant, conducts seminars on the latest developments in nephrology and urology. Our efforts have been to set-up tertiary care centers in the rural areas in several districts of Karnataka. One of our major areas of concern has been paediatric urology. In addition, we have been constantly conducting research on better patient care management. When and how was BKF established? BKF was set up in 1983 and it was in the same year that we performed the first ever renal transplant in Karnataka, which was successful. The institution which owes its formation
