The suction cups are mounted beyond the edges of the base plates. Thread size of all screws is 1/4-20. This is the industry standard throughout the world. The Director uses an industry standard 3/8 inch bolt. Please keep in mind that the mounting bolt provided will fit 99% of all professional video heads. However, you can substitute a metric bolt of appropriate size and strength to accomodate some very rare video heads on the market. My advice, buy a new video head and you won’t have any troubles.
