What are the steps to becoming a foster parent?
Step1: Complete an initial conversation or attend an Informational Meeting with an Access for Youth representative. Step 2: Complete pre-service training. Step 3: Complete an application and all documents in the licensing package distributed at pre-service training i.e. references, medical information, criminal background check/child abuse registry releases etc. Step 4: An assessor will be assigned and will complete a family assessment (home study). If approved, a license will be issued to the family. Assistance with the application and licensure process is provided during training.
