• An application for guardianship is filed, or a doctor or social worker may send a letter requesting creation of Guardianship. • A doctor’s letter is required before the Court Investigator is sent out to meet the proposed ward. • The Court Investigator will file his report. • If the proposed ward is indigent, the file is forwarded to the Harris County Attorney to file an application on behalf of the Harris County Guardianship Program. • An Attorney Ad Litem is appointed. • The application is set for hearing.
