Our standard offer is currently AAB at A-level, with one of the A grades in English (Literature or Language). We also ask for a pass in a fourth subject at AS-level. These results must normally have been obtained within 2 years’ study. Students who fail to achieve the target offer are unlikely to obtain a place. In addition to A-levels, we also consider a range of equivalent qualifications, including Scottish Highers, the Irish Leaving Certificate, the International Baccalaureate and the USA Advanced Placement tests. We also take into account the GCSE profiles of candidates. We look for evidence of consistent academic performance across a range of subjects. We look favourably on candidates with one or more GCSE passes in a foreign language (which may include Latin). If you do not have a foreign language pass, you, or preferably your referee, should explain the reason in your UCAS application.
