Special Cases: • Winders: Tread must be at least 9″ wide at a point not more than 12″ out from narrow end. Tread at narrowest point must be at least 6″. Must have continuous handrail on the side where tread is narrowest. • Spiral: Minimum width: 26″. Tread must be at least 7 1/2″ wide at a point not more than 12″ out from narrow end. All treads shall be identical. Minimum headroom: 6′ 6″. • Circular: Tread must be at least 9″ wide at a point not more than 12″ out from narrow end. Tread at narrowest point must be at least 6″.
