What are the stages of getting an acting agent?
It’s really the stages to building your career. Training as an actor is where it starts. Hustling yourself for parts in stage plays, showcases or what have you and building your network. This is assuming that you already live in an entertainment hub like Vancouver, LA or NYC. On the TV/Film side of things there are publications that list casting directors for extras or under 5’s. You should be on file with these places. Joining the unions, AFTRA and SAG is going to come along and once that’s done you’ll be somewhat attractive to an agent or at least the ones you’ve targeted will become aware of you.
