.biz domain names will be introduced in a three-phase process. Phase One Intellectual Property Claim Forms (May 21 Aug 6 2001 ) During this phase, individuals and organizations that wish to claim intellectual property rights over domain names may submit an Intellectual Property Claim form. In order to submit a claim form, the claimant must have a valid trademark or other intellectual property claim and will be required to provide additional registration information. A fee of USD90 will be levied for submission of a claim form. Submitting a claim form does not guarantee registration and in order to successfully register the name, the applicant must also submit a pre-registration during phase 2 and be successful in being allocated the name in phase 3.
