The CSUMB Multiple Subjects credential program has several strong points: • Integration of course work and field work. Credential candidates complete field work and course work concurrently. All candidates work in K-8 classrooms, as Intern teachers or as student teachers, during both academic-year semesters of their program. Most courses require at least one assignment to be completed in the field, with written components turned in for credit in the course, and candidates’ experiences in the field are drawn upon in classes through discussion or written reflection. • Our program is small relative to other CSU programs. Because of the relatively small size of our program candidates are given more personal attention. • Cohort structure Candidates are admitted in groups and take most or all of their coursework with that group.
