What are the special features of the Mini?
• Nearly every type of input and output for HD – all that is missing is HD-SDI. This means you can connect a monitor via HDMI and view the picture with up to 8 channels of audio out of Premiere. • Simultaneous HD and SD output – an HD picture through HDMI, and an SD picture through s-video/composite or component. You decide whether the analogue picture is letterbox or anamorphic. • Any size up to 1920 x 1080 – this includes standard definition, 720P, 1080i and 1080P. • Capture to Matrox I-frame, a special Matrox easy-to-edit format. If filming on AVCHD, which is a horrible format to edit, capture the HDMI output from your camera straight into Matrox I-frame to get footage which looks the same but is much easier to edit. Alternatively use the Adobe Media Encoder to convert footage quickly to Matrox I-frame and preserve the individual files. • Capture to uncompressed 8-bit or 10-bit. You will need a decent drive array to manage uncompressed HD (which takes about 400GB per hour footage).
