What are the sources of BLR’s survey data?
BLR conducts annual surveys of employers to collect up-to-date and reliable data on pay budgets and employee benefits. This information is available in the Salary Center under the tab titled Merit Increases and in the Benefits Center. In addition, in order to meet the demands of our subscribers for salary data on more jobs, for more industries, and for more local areas, we adopted a new approach to gathering, analyzing, and reporting salary data. Using our newly developed, state-of-the-art database, we compiled employer-reported data from reliable surveys available commercially and in the public sector. Our compensation professionals analyze survey data for accuracy and market trends. They match our job descriptions to those used to collect data reported in the various salary surveys. As a result, BLR provides you with current, reliable information on thousands of job titles and hundreds of industries you can feel confident using to benchmark competitive salaries in your organization.
