A. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(5)YB4 or later is required for full support of line encoding methods. Also, you must properly configure line encoding on the Cisco 827 ADSL interface. This interface is in auto detect mode by default and auto detects the line encoding to use when it connects to your ISP.
