A. Cisco IOS Software Release 12.1(5)YB4 or later is required for full support of line encoding methods. Also, you must properly configure line encoding on the Cisco 827 ADSL interface. This interface is in auto detect mode by default and auto detects the line encoding to use when it connects to your ISP. If you choose to configure a line encoding method, contact your ISP to find out the type of encoding to use.
