What are the siren signals I hear at various times of the day?
The town of Gardiner relies on volunteer fire departments for fire protection. The Gardiner Fire Department and Shawangunk Valley Fire Department do not maintain personnel in the respective fire stations. Volunteers respond to alarms from their home or work locations. Although volunteer firefighters are equipped with radio pagers, the departments also use siren signals to notify volunteers of an alarm. These siren signals can also be activated in case of a town-wide or county-wide emergencies or disasters.
