What are the similarities between the BSc (Hons) Human Nutrition and BSc (Hons) Public Health Nutrition?
Both courses are based on a thorough study of the science of nutrition and as such both include modules on life sciences (physiology and biochemistry), nutrition (nutrients, dietary reference values, the composition of foods, food policy) and people (behavioral studies, communication). Similarly both courses include the development of key skills of nutritional assessment, effective communication, teaching and presentation and research methods. However, the courses are significantly different in order to meet the different needs of the professions of Dietetics and Public Health Nutrition. It is sometimes possible for students who start on BSc (Hons) Public Health Nutrition to take some additional modules in year 1 to apply to transfer to BSc (Hons) Human Nutrition and Dietetics when a place becomes available.
