What are the similarities and differences between Target Oriented Curriculum (TOC) and BCA?
TOC is a curriculum framework, which spells out clearly the learning targets of each domain in each key stage for describing the objectives and directions of education. It ensures the curriculum as a whole, the different domains in the curriculum and individual subjects to be integral, comprehensive, continuous and balanced. It also provides common conceptual framework and procedure for planning, development, implementation and evaluation. BCA is a project comprising of the Student Assessment and the System Assessment. The functions are to help teachers and parents diagnose students’ learning, identify their strengths and areas for improvement so that timely assistance can be provided. This also helps to improve learning and teaching, provide the Government and school management with useful information on the territory-wide levels in the key learning areas.
